We first encountered Dr. Zacharisen after a rough winter for our then 18 month old daughter. She had required two ER visits for asthma when our primary physician recommended we see an Asthma/Allergy Specialist. From the moment we met Dr. Zacharisen, we felt confident in his care for our daughter. It was evident from the time he took explaining each test and medication that he was thinking of only her with his treatment plan. He respected our desire to do the least intervention possible while working toward health and activity for our toddler. He was open to discussions about the flu shot, adding medications to the long term plan and medication interventions when she was sick. He offered less invasive options which did wonders during our tough winters. He was always available when flare ups occurred and again was thorough in explaining the alteration to the treatment plan. It was a learning process and we always felt a part of it. I would be remiss if I did not mention his relationship with our daughter who is now 4 1/2 years old. He addressed her in the visits, worked to develop a rapport, and make her feel comfortable. What I really cherished was how he recognized that even at a young age she knew how she felt too. We saw with each visit how she grew more comfortable with Dr. Zach. When we happened to run into Dr. Zach outside the office, he was generous with his time with our daughter and asking how she was feeling and what she was up to. He is a genuine person who cares about his patients, their families and the community. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Zacharisen!
